A Celebration of Food, Shoes and Mom Time

My mom bought me this beautiful book for my first Mother's Day! It's a recipe book that celebrates the beauty and artistic value of the food given to us by God. Along with recipes are verses from Scripture that regale all things good.
"I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor - it is the gift of God." Ecclesiastes 3:12
Thanks mom! I love it! (I see my Teagan in the background!)

For brunch a couple of days ago, I made a yummy conglomeration that very much relfects how much Courtney has inspired me. In this bowl is organic vanilla yogurt sprinkled with homemade granola, 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips and a spoonful of almond butter. It was quite delicious, and I've had it multiple times since! The beautiful flowers are compliments of Matt's assistant, Tamma. She picked them from her garden.
Last weekend we took an unexpected trip to Keokuk, OH (or maybe it's MO...I don't know where we were), because Matt's grandfather had a stroke. Brian, Janet, and Debbie came up to our place, and then we all headed north to the hospital. We spent the day there, and drove back that night. It was quite the whirlwind, but it's always great to hang out with our family, and it was good to see Bernie (the granddad).
I couldn't help but notice Parker's new shoes. I just thought they were adorable, so I snapped some shots...Yesterday, was my "mom's group day". First, I went over to Marsha Graham's house to meet with my church mom's group. We've been meeting since Noah was born, and yesterday was our last meeting of the session. We read Grace Based Parenting, which seemed to be an excellent book; however, it wasn't applicable for me yet since Noah is so young. I think I'll reread it in a year or so.
Afterwards, I headed over to Marisa's home where I met Gina (and obviously Marisa) and all of their little ones. The picture of the kids below isn't a great one, but I didn't get too many. Not sure why! (Sidenote: Check out Marisa's toned arms are in this picture...I'm so jealous!) Marisa made some amazing food for us, and we had a good time chatting as usual.

Hahaha! Evie, you are too nice! Arms definitely get stronger when you have a toddler and an infant to lug around. Now if only abs could get flatter...
